Big Catch Bingo Brings Post 15 Together

LINDALE, Texas (Sept. 27, 2025) – Post 15 was alive with laughter, good food, and fellowship this past Saturday as members and families came together for what turned out to be the largest gathering in recent memory. With 101 people in attendance, the Post was filled with energy and joy from the first fryer basket to the last bingo call.

The evening began with the smell of fish and french fries drifting across the grounds as Mike Morgan and members of the Honor Guard manned the fryers, serving up plate after plate of golden crappie. Inside, the Auxiliary Unit worked like seasoned pros, turning a potluck into a banquet. Tables groaned under the weight of a massive spread of sides and desserts, each dish prepared with care and shared freely, just as has been done at Legion gatherings for generations.

As dinner was underway, a few members took to the lake in small boats, casting their lines as the evening sky lit up in brilliant color. The waters were calm, the sunset painted the horizon in shades of orange and gold, and a thin layer of fog rolled just above the surface, creating a serene and timeless scene. It was a reminder that the Post is not only a place of service and fellowship, but also one of peace, reflection, and natural beauty.

As dinner wound down, the crowd turned its attention to the bingo cards. Every seat was filled, every card in play, and laughter soon echoed through the hall. Our “Special Guest International Man,” 2nd Vice Commander James Stanley, took the caller’s chair, keeping spirits high with his Filipino-accented numbers and quick humor. “B-et” and “B-Piptin” became instant favorites, sparking laughs with every call. The room came alive not only with the game itself, but with the shared joy of being together as one Legion family.

What made the night even more meaningful was the presence of three prospective members who attended for the first time. They found the evening to be family-friendly, welcoming, and filled with clean fun. So impressed by the camaraderie and warmth of the Post, all three began the process of becoming members themselves.

For the leadership of Post 15, the evening was a proud moment. Commander Preston Swift, along with the 1st and 2nd Vice Commanders, expressed how deeply touched they were by the turnout and the teamwork that made the event possible. Although it required a tremendous effort to host, many hands came together to lighten the load, proving once again that Post 15 is not just a Post — it is a family.

Big Catch Bingo was more than a meal and a game. It was a night that showed the heart of Post 15, a reminder that veterans and their families thrive when they come together in fellowship. The food, the laughter, and the love shared that evening were proof that the bonds of service grow stronger when they are celebrated at home.
