Annual Recreation Fees
The Recreation Fee was created by the Executive Committee back in 2023 to support the maintenance and upkeep of the American Legion Lake and the Crowell Pistol Range.
The Recreation Fee was set at $50.00 per year.
The Recreation Fee offers members 24/7 access to the Post grounds using a serialized key that opens the Post Gate located at the main entrance on Legion Hills Road on the east side of the property.
To be issued a gate key, members must sign for the key which is stamped with a unique serial number.
Members desiring to use the Crowell Pistol Range must attend the mandatory Range Orientation and Liability Training prior to receiving a gate key.
Range Orientation and Liability Training is offered every other month. Please see the Post Planning Calendar which is located on the Post website or on the bulletin board in the Post Building. Members are only required to attend this training once and your completed forms are kept on file and subject to audit by our Insurance Carrier and the Post Finance Audit Committee.
Members who do not intend to ever use the Crowell Pistol Range must sign a Declination form stipulating they will not enter the Range at any time. Violation of this policy will result in loss of gate key privileges and the member (and their guest) could be subject to Trespassing charges.
Only members "In Good Standing" (Membership Dues paid for current year) are permitted to hold a gate key.
Renewal of the Recreation Fee is due at the same time you pay for your membership renewal. Members are reminded they cannot pay their Recreation Fee by using "www.mylegion.org" to pay their membership dues as the Recreation Fee is unique to our Post only. Recreation Fees can be paid by using the Post website or PayPal, both which are accessed a small "convenance fee" for using that online method, or by sending a check to the Post PO Box, or in person to the Adjutant at a Monthly Business Meeting.
Gate locks will be rekeyed no more often than every two years or less than every three years to ensure members not "In Good Standing" are not using issued Gate Keys without paying their Recreation Fee.
Members found using gate keys who are not "In Good Standing" due to lapsed Membership Dues or lapsed Recreation Fees are subject to loss of their gate key privileges and the member (and their guests) could be subject to Trespassing charges.
